"Oh...Sounds like your job is getting harder." Laevaetion said as she nodded slowly, clasping her hands loosly behind her back. "Lucifer..." She said quieter than a whisper. The name reminded her of what she was suposed to be doing...that she shouldn't be walking on Neopia. "That reminds me..." Laevaetion started, "I was origonally suposed to be serving in Hell...although I had never went. I stayed on Neopia just doing what I do now...and what I had done before." She sighed as she looked up at the sky, "I used to be living up there, but was suposed to be sent below."

Daray was silent for a long time; he knew there was an extremely faint angelic presence about Laevaetion, but he never said anything about it. He also looked at the sky, shivering slightly. He felt as though the owner of the heavens was staring right back at him. "So why do ye hate yer brother so bad?"
"We've just always been rivals since we could walk." Laevaetion started, "At first it was just normal siblings arguements. As soon as we got older it began to get worse. When we both had to be placed, Hacaeus got to stay in heaven why I had to go to hell. I didn't go, though. I just roamed Neopia until I found out about my last organization. Although, just before the day we would have succeeded in out plans, Hacaeus killed them all by alighting the building on fire." Laevaetion stared at her paws/feet.

Daray shook his head sadly and sat down on a tree stump. "Everythin's mixed up now. Heaven's killin' people, an' I, Top General o' Hell, feelin' sentimental emotions. 'Ow much more screwy can things get, eh?" He chuckled weakly. The Lupe was quiet once again. "I've killed many, many people." He said in a soft voice. "None I have ever felt sorry for. It was necessary to gain control of Neopia... And when I accomplished it... Won Neopia for hell... It was amazing. Demons paraded on the roads and all who dwelled upon this damned planet ran to their homes like insects." His voice began to grow slightly maniacal. "An' I would still be rulin' this place. I would be the KING of Neopia!" Daray stood up, breathing heavily. His wings had burst through his cape about halfway through the monologue. "But what weakened me was the complex of right and wrong! That damned paradox of the forsaken me! Why did my power faulter at the moment it was needed most?!" He cried.
Once again, the 'X' marking on Daray's cheek began to glow silver. There was an enormous 'CRACK!' and Daray fell to the ground. His hand twitched slightly as if trying to reach for something.
"I'm surprised that worked so quickly. I suppose even the General of Hell's army even has a weakness," said a voice from behind Laevaetion. A Gelert leaned against a tree; a silver cross was clutched firmly in his hand. It appeared to be steaming as if it was just taken out of super-heated water. He fixed his cape and walked confidently to Daray; he frowned when he saw there was still movement. "Hmm... I suppose I'll have to try a bit harder." Out of his jacket he pulled out yet another cross. He began to move them in a hypnotic motion. Daray began to claw at the ground; howling sounds were emitted every once and a while.
Laevaetion jumpped from being startled for the third time that night. Her orange-red eyes narrowed towards the gelert through her frameless glasses. "Knock it off." She said in a quiet tone, but yet loud enough to hear. Black claws poked out from Laevaetion's toes and fingers. She clutched her hands into fists and bent her elbow back, throwing a punch towards the gelert.

The Gelert ducked under her fist as if he had forseen the attack coming at him. His expressionless gaze hovered towards her briefly. "This must be done. It is the only path for redemption," he muttered before placing the cross on Daray's forehead.
Daray cried out as smoke rose from his skull. It appeared he was powerless to do anything. His mouth opened and let out a horrible roar of agony.
Kai had been sitting and watching all this time, and, still a kind person deep inside, despite being mostly evil, hadn't disturbed them. Upon seeing Daray hit the dirt like that, and seeing him in pain, She couldn't stand to watch this. "Stop!" She yelled. "How can you be so cruel? He has feelings." Then she covered her mouth. "And why would I usually enjoy seeing this, but this is killing me?" She asked herself, blinking.
"Then do the same to me. I have killed many, as well. I may not be from hell or anything like that, but leave him alone. In fact, leave me alone, and leave peacefully. Or else, You will be another on my list of deaths. " She hopped down from the tree, and landed on her feet, despite the fact she was not feline. She looked at Laevaetion. "You gonna help me?"

The Gelert shook his head. "Then I have no reason to harm you," he said before returning to his work. He pulled out a small, leather-bound book and flipped through the pages; on the cover was a large, golden cross.
"Step away from him!" Laevaetion yelled out. Her hand was about to reach for an explosive, but stopped. She couldn't throw one if the gelert was that close to Daray. She nodded towards Kai, but didn't glance at her. She would just have to go with close range attacks. Laevaetion charged towards the gelert in an attempt to tackle him away from Daray.

The Gelert was indeed distracted by Laevaetion's attempts. But he was not tackled; he moved out of the way himself. He stood up and brushed off his cape, staring at Laevaetion vancantly. He looked down to Daray and folded his arms across his chest. "Why?"
Laevaetion skidded to a hault, making sure not to trip. She turned to look at the gelert, "Because I just can't stand by and watch him while he's in pain." She reached into one of the pockets on her belt and pulled out a grenade. She pulled out the pin with her teeth and threw the grenade at the gelert.
