The wailing of bagpipes issued over Neopia Central; it was the perfect thing to set the mood. Everyone who walked the streets were absent of a smile, the skies were gray, and there was a sense of tribulation about the air. What was there to be happy about? One of the greatest figures in history had died on this day.
Policemen in black paraded about the streets; the coffin of the respected man was held high above their heads as if trying to absorb as much cheeriness from the sun as possible. Whispers flooded the streets as the coffin passed by; other than that, the streets were silent. Everyone seemed to be walking in the same direction except for one. As everyone was walking, he stood still. An unidentifiable object was clutched in his hand.
"Can you believe it? He's dead... what are we to do now?" "I'm not sure. I suppose we all..." "Don't say it."
"Borovan? Gone? No, this can't be!" "Mommy, I'm scared!" "It's okay... it's okay..."
"I reckon all hell's gonna break out soon, eh?" "Yes. I don't doubt it."
Only a few of these panicked conversations reached the ears of the darkly dressed Gelert. His eyes shifted like liquid gold. "These Neopians never cease to amuse me. As soon as their 'God' dies, they believe all hope is gone. They lack faith and that will be their downfall. But I suppose that I why I am here." He unclenched his fist to reveal a large silver cross on a string. He then followed the mass of people in the direction they were going.

"Any news on how he died?" The voice of Zhauy said as she stood on the roof top of a building; watching everyone below as she folded her arms and rested her weight equally on both legs. "None." The angelic zafara, Hacaeus, said as he stood a few side steps away from Zhauy. "Aren't you suposed to know these things?" Zhauy asked in her usual cold tone. "How am I suposed to keep track of how everyone dies?!" Hacaeus asked back, "And shouldn't you be down there with them if your so eger to find out?" "Does it look like the correct time for a ghost to be wandering around as if it were as normal as breathing?" Zhauy asked him, but never bothered to look, "People shouldn't be looking up at the rooves. I'll just go from one to one." "Whatever." Hacaeus said simply. He beated his large feathery wings and soared upwards until he wasn't visible.

A light sigh was heard from the silver wocky, Millicent, as she wandered down the sidewalk, an electric kacheek by her side. "Life never ceases to surprise you, does it?" The kacheek shrugged. "I can't be too bothered." "It's curious though, isn't it?" Milly retaliated. "Hm?" "I mean... how do you suppose he died? It couldn't have been age." He shook his head. "Again, it doesn't make much of a difference to me." "You're so indifferent, Vanilla. Don't you care at all?" "Do you?" "..." She paused, running a hand through her short, rust-red hair. "Well, yes. I mean, a huge world figure, a role model to some, a leader has just... up and died... doesn't that strike you as slightly odd?" He stared into the sidewalk for a few seconds, walking in silence. "It doesn't strike you nearly as hard, when you've lost someone much closer before." Milly looked away, nodding in soundless agreement. "... True."
A still moment passed before Milly spoke again. "I'm still wondering... what will happen to Neopia in general, though. If so many people are uneasy and... well... you know what this could do to the world, right?" "On what level?" "Any level. Economic, emotional, physical..." "That's pretty obvious, isn't it?" Milly sighed. "Right. I s'pose things will eventually blow over, though... I hope..."
