T'was twighlight upon the eastern side of Neopia, and Mystery Island being one of those places catching the darkened hours. The skies were clear, and were painted with a deep navy blue, stars acting as nightlights and glowing white where they clustered together. As the sun gave its last and final goodnight kiss, and fell behind the never-ending ocean, a crescent shaped moon rose from the shadows and had cast a silvery light upon the land.
The jungle within the border of Mystery Island had a haze of fog drifting, the smell of the salty ocean breezes drifting through. The jungles were moist and dark, and if you weren't a resident of the jungle, you might have mistaken the branching limbs as spooking monsters, or vines as coiling snakes from the dark. Which was perfect for a nocturnal creature...
Being one of those nocturnal creatures, a shadow curled up on one of those branching tree limbs. If her tail had not been moving, the black furred feline would have been easily passed as another shadow. But today was special for Yyandela; today was a day for hunting. There was not too much light, but enough for a wandering prey to feel secure with their eyes. Which took Yyandela to advantage; after all, she had the ability to view through the darkness. Yyandela kneeled down, preparing the impact on her paws before she took the jump to the ground. Three...two...one. Yyandela jumped, landing on her paws, but the impact forced her body to roll forward. Shaking out her fur, Yyandela trotted her way towards the shadows; and in that instant everything glowed green. Lurking there, Yyandela waited for her prey, well anything really, her muscles tensing to pounce.
