Milly's Journal: So, we boarded a cruise ship bound to Mystery Island early the next day. I found out it had been a good thing that Takuro tagged along.

Milly: I'll pay you back when I get the chance.

Milly: I guess I didn't realise how little money I had left until now.
Takuro: Don't worry about repaying me. It wasn't that much...

Milly: Well, if you're sure...
Masino: Are we boarding yet?

She's writing it on the boat, kind of like an extension to whatever she'd written the last day. Which is why she's telling it so much like a story. It's a continuation of her journal musings from before.
