An explosion went out as the grenade hit the first grain of sand it could, heating up the ground as it spread outwards.
Xenodae, luckly getting out of the way, was far enough to see and feel the heat of the explosion but not be hit. He growled as he looked up at the sky, seeing that Laevaetion had taken off with Trinatei. He knew what they wanted with her. If it happened, though, Neopia would be done for.

"Och, what do ye need her for?" Asked a voice from behind Laevaetion. Daray was only about three feet behind her, leathery wings spread to their full. "The lass does no look to important in my opion," he mutered. "But these days, ye canna judge one on their appearance," he reminded himself.

Laevaetion looked behind her as she slowed down, "The girl is Trinatei. She's the hier to one of the thrones of Neopia." She explained, "Her blood is royal, except she doesn't want to take her place on the throne. Mailiku wants her blood."

"I doubt taking her blood'll make Maliku any more of a King," muttered Daray. "But whatever. He can live with his illusions. I have better things to do than baby sit the lad," he chuckled, tilting to the left slightly.

Laevaetion sighed, "He plans on injecting her blood into him as crazy as it may sound. But its the only way. Its not really Mailiku's blood inside of him, anyways. After thats done, Trinatei will be killed and Mailiku would be able to take her place. By doing that, he has more power over Neopia."

Daray snorted. "Maliku's very crude, eh?" he inquired. "I have a feeling that killing her isn't the best idea. Ye'd best watch where ye tred," he cautioned with an ominous tone.

"I guess so." Laevaetion said. She shrugged her shoulders, "Meh. I don't know. I'm not the one whose using her so I don't really care what he does." Laevaetion blinked, "Why? Do you know something 'bout her?"

"Nae," he said immediately. "I just have a feelin' about the lass. That if we kill her, we'll all be in danger," he said in a low voice. He examined the captive carefully and shuddered. "Aye. Bad ju ju."

Laevaetion just shrugged her shoulders once again, "Only things I know are that she has no siblings, nor living parents, so she's the only one." "Bad ju ju?!" Trinatei yelled, squirming in Laevaetion's grasp, "What the hell is that suposed to mean?!"

"Yeah, whatever." Laevaetion said ash she started lowering to the ground, spotting Desyful walking down there, "Only if things get to hectic to handle."
"Damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!" Xenodae yelled as he stamped his paw in the sand back where they all used to be. "How the hell am I suposed to walk home and tell everyone that Trinatei's been kidnapped?!" He yelled out, pacing around the shore angrily, his hands/paws balled up into fists.

Daray landed next to Laevaetion grudgingly. "Ye should heed my advice. I've lived much longer than both of ye put together; I think I know what I'm talking about. I've experienced pretty much every possible victory and defeat there is to experience. Trust me: The cost for your master's plan will be great," he uttered.
"Eh? Is something the matter?" Asked a voice not too far from Xenodae. A silver and red shoyru, arms crossed, stared at the pet strangely. "If something is the problem, is there any way I could be of service?" Zhayn asked.

Laevaetion raised an eyebrow as she glanced at Daray, "Do you know something?" She asked. She was always the suspicious type and it couldn't be helped.
"One of my friends just got kidnapped by that damn zafara!" Xenodae yelled, looking up at the sky as he kept pacing. He sighed as he slowed down his pace until he stopped, "Unless your willing to help me get her back, then there isn't much you could do."
